NEW PLACES

Moving the studio is exhausting.  Every muscle hurts, my back is out of place...my husband is moaning and groaning every time he moves and I have a feeling the other ladies are feeling the same way. It's hard work.  We are not even half way done...but it's pure bliss. It really is....dreaming, planning and growing. We have been blessed.  We work hard and create hard. We are three years old. I can't believe it...I think back to a few conversations I had with friends who thought we would never make it...I'm glad we didn't let those words direct the path of Altered Wing.

As with any good thing there are challenges, frustrations, hurt feelings, struggles, personality conflicts and many other things that accompany 6 creative women in the same space...But....But...there is laughter, tears, hugs, adventures, sharing grief, soda runs, Chinese food runs, Mexican food runs, out of town show fun, hotel antics, texting marathons, iMessage jib jab videos, secret giggles, pet names and the truth be known...lots of love.  We don't live our lives the same, we don't all share the same faith, we don't create the same or even like each other at times. But there is a common bond somehow that weaves itself between us. We love each other and I am thankful for each of the 6 women that share this space and the 2 that are joining us...
Thankful, so thankful.

Grab your pencil and jot down this date: Feb 7th from 4-8pm!!  We are going to be doing another Making Workshop!!! This theme is LOVE, just in time for Valentines Day!!!! You will be getting instruction & supplies to make 4 projects each in a different crafty way; metals (bending & pressing), sewing, stamping/tag making (you will also get the stamp set you are working with) embellishing, waxing....this workshop has it all for only $100!!!

Treat yourself to learn new techniques & spend some crafty time with other ladies who LOVE to create!!!

2015 Monthly Pinterest Challenge

Starting in January we're having a monthly PINTEREST Challenge.  There will be a $10.00 monthly fee to join the challenge.  You will have three weeks to finish the challenge and the fourth week is reserved for facebook and studio voting. The winner receives a $20.00 studio credit to be used at their discretion.  The beginning of each month the criteria and rules for the projects will be listed.  Free studio time will be available on Saturdays. You may use our glues, papers, paint and tools (with assistance) to finish your projects. Additional supplies are available for purchase from She's Crafty right here in the studio. We will be happy to help you with new techniques.

Join with a friend and dive into a creating frenzy, learn new techniques, build some friendships and have alot of creative fun.

The winners!!!

We Won!! - The Christmas tree Raffle at the Mosaic Marketplace. We were informed of our win by Ginger Mallard of Altered Wing Studios!
We took our Granddaughter, Paige Abbott to what was promoted as a: “Dickens’ themed Holiday artisan market featuring handmade, re-purposed, and vintage wares.” It was staged at Big League Dreams Redding, in the indoor pavilion. The many vendors set up their spaces with much decoration and attention to detail. Each Vendor was part of a beautiful Victorian Marketplace. They were raffling off a 7' pre-lit tree, completely decorated with 150 meticulously made, handmade ornaments; each totally unique and individualized to those who crafted it. Terry and I have not had our own tree for the last 10 years and Terry longingly looked at this ‘Masterpiece’ and bought 3 raffle tickets! Paige commented at the time: “Granny; your house is not big enough!”
The Tree touches our ceiling with more lights than we can count! We are Still in Awe of each ornament we unpack! This Christmas will be; very, very special and we thank each and every one who personally made ornaments! The Love put into each Ornament speaks Volumes of many Good Folks’ CHRISTmas Spirit and our family will feel it for years to come! Especially;This year, in that it is our 40 year wedding Anniversary on Christmas Eve.

Congrats Abbots!!! Thank you ALL for coming out and making this event amazing!!! We had a great time and hope you did too!!                Much Love! Ginger
